With over a decade of engineering and management experience in the Power & Energy industry, Shishir Shekhar currently leads the worldwide Utilities & Energy business at MathWorks Inc. Shishir works closely with senior managers and industry leaders at leading companies worldwide on improving their workflows in a variety of applications areas-including Asset Management, Grid Analytics, Reliability, Planning, Operations, Energy Trading, Risk Management and Compliance.

Before joining MathWorks Inc, Shishir was a Senior Project Engineer/Manager at National Grid USA, where he was involved in various large, multimillion-dollar, Infrastructure projects such as Integration of Wind, Solar and Energy Storage technologies on Electric T&D systems, Substation Engineering and Design, Planning and Commissioning of High Voltage Overhead and Underground Transmission Networks; and led key business initiatives in the areas of Grid Modernization and Electric Vehicles charging infrastructure.

Shishir is a Senior Member of IEEE and is involved in multiple technical committees at the IEEE Power & Energy Society IAS Society and CIGRE.

Shishir holds a Master's Degree in Business Management and Economics from Harvard University, USA and Master's Degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Northeastern University, USA. Shishir was a visiting Research Associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) USA, where his research focus was Economic Modeling of Wind Power Generation and studying Power Quality issues due to integration of large-scale Wind Farms.
