The practical experts on this panel will talk about their firm's innovative efforts to make grid data valuable. They will discuss new developments in how to recognize valuable data and valuable data combinations, and how data needs to be processed and prepped in order to be useful. The panel will also examine new developments in meeting the challenges of applying grid analytics in practice, and how big concepts (e.g., the Internet of Things, cloud computing, artificial intelligence) come to life in utility work. Join us as we look at best practices, lessons learned and success strategies for putting data to work.

DNV-GL is a global product assurance firm, and is at the forefront of enterprise data analytics for utilities. A mathematician and statistician with 29 years of experience in utility data analytics, including roles at Xcel, Primen, AEG, and EnerNOC, Craig is currently helping to apply DNV-GL's Veracity big-data/IoT initiative across utility applications, combining data sets to deliver practical insights.

Matthew Lockridge has been Chief Strategy Officer of Field2Base since July 17, 2017. He has been involved with developing technology strategies and programs for the Federal Government and Fortune 500 companies for more than 15 years. In 1999, Mr. Lockridge worked on several top secret IT initiatives for the Undersecretary of Defense, including the development of a secure global conferencing system for The Pentagon. Upon project completion, Mr. Lockridge continued to work as an IT consultant with Booz Allen and Hamilton until relocating to South Carolina with Verizon Wireless. He spent the next 7 years at Verizon Wireless developing an emerging mobile data sales channel. During his tenure at Verizon, Mr. Lockridge's team was responsible for growing wireless data revenue at Verizon Wireless (in the south area alone). Mr. Lockridge has received numerous government and private sector service awards and has been the key note speaker at technology conferences throughout the Southeast. Mr. Lockridge received his Bachelor of Science - Business Administration from The Citadel in Charleston, SC and is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Craig is a veteran business development consultant, academic, board member, author, and entrepreneur. Since 1983, he has completed more than 500 assignments helping to build technology-based businesses through the disciplines of innovation, competition, alliance, and acquisition. Craig is currently at work helping to build digital grid businesses, microgrids, data analytics services, platform ventures, connected home scenarios, and distributed control systems for renewable energy. He is also at work on analyses of solar and storage resources, blockchain energy use, and LNG markets. By training a behavioral economist and philosopher, Craig has pioneered new techniques in business strategy, sales acceleration, Total Quality Management, and market research. He holds a B.A. summa cum laude in Philosophy and Economics from Beloit College, an MA in Philosophy from Yale University, and an MPPM degree in Financing and Accounting from the Yale School of Management.

Dick Munson is EDF's Director, Midwest Clean Energy, where he works to advance the use of clean energy in Illinois and Ohio. Dick currently focuses on creating new financing opportunities for efficiency, on ensuring smart meters provide the real-time data that will enable consumers to cut energy and pollution, and on building the business case for efficiency within commercial buildings.
